Wendell is responsible for leading the development of IPI's Engineering Group, providing overall structure and long-term vision for the team. His responsibilities include staying at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative design concepts impacting the construction industry. Wendell also manages the coordination of design firms throughout all phases of a project, from initial planning and framing through project launch and execution.
With more than 40 years of experience in the design and construction industry, Wendell began his career as a structural steel detailer while working his way through college. After earning his degree in Civil Engineering, he continued in the structural steel industry as a design engineer and later became a licensed structural engineer. Wendell went on to found and operate his own structural engineering firm, providing consulting services for a variety of local projects. From 2011 to 2019, he served as the Facilities Lead Engineer and Site Structural Engineer at Boeing South Carolina. He joined IPI in 2019 as a Project Manager, successfully delivering projects for clients including Toyota, SK, and BMW, before transitioning into his current role as Director of Engineering.
