ERIC MORTON
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Working at IPI is like rummaging through a box of chocolates – sweet, full of surprises, and occasionally you come across a nut. I enjoy the personal aspects of the human side of IPI – the good and genuine people with whom I interact every day. I also enjoy getting to know our new hires.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Eric leads the training and development initiatives and programs for IPI teammates. Working closely with our HR professionals and the People & Culture arm of the company, he develops and manages onboarding and other HR processes, onboarding each new IPI teammate and setting them up for success. Responsible for assessing the training needs for our 200+ teammates, Eric develops and implements training materials and programs and monitors their effectiveness, while also analyzing metrics and other data to identify skill gaps and other training requirements.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
20 years’ experience in the construction and construction management industry. Previously, Eric was a small business owner of a general contracting company. Prior to joining IPI, he served various roles at Global Performance, Mustang Engineering and Wood Group.
OUTSIDE THE OFFICE:
Extreme Napping Enthusiast: I’m a pioneer in the art of napping in unconventional locations, such as hammocks, under desks, and, occasionally, during particularly long conference calls. Oh wait, outside of the office? I enjoy hanging out with my wife and kids and traveling the fruited plain with them. When not physically traveling, I time travel by reading books.
