I really enjoy the family environment that is present with IPI. Even as fast as we are growing, it is still good to know that everyone is treated like family.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Wendell’s responsibilities include leading the development of IPI’s Engineering Group with overall structuring and long-term vision for the group. This includes staying on top of industry trends, new technologies and innovative design concepts new to the construction industry. Wendell manages coordination of design firms from framing all the way through to project launch.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Wendell brings over 40 years of experience in the design and construction industry. He began his career as a structural steel detailer while working his way through college. After earning his degree in Civil Engineering, he continued in the structural steel sector as a design engineer and became a licensed structural engineer. Wendell founded and operates his own structural engineering firm, providing consulting services on various local projects. From 2011 to 2019, he served as the Facilities Lead Engineer and Site Structural Engineer at Boeing South Carolina. He joined IPI in 2019 as a Project Manager, successfully delivering projects for clients such as Toyota, SK, and BMW, before transitioning into his current role as Director of Engineering.

OUTSIDE THE OFFICE:

I enjoy vacationing with my wife and adult children. I will never turn down an opportunity to walk Folly Beach in search of shark’s teeth. Although it has been a bit since my last batch, I enjoy home brewing craft beer and have written a number of my own recipes.
