Industrial Project Innovation (IPI) celebrated Women In Construction (WIC) Week March 1st – 7th. The project management firm invited women within the organization to share anecdotes and advice related to their careers in the construction industry. The participants ranged from the human resources manager within the home office to project managers and project engineers in the field.

Our valued team members discussed their start in construction, opportunities that have arisen, and how women can make a difference in a male dominated environment. Their stories were shared on social media to raise awareness about available opportunities and attract more women to the construction industry where they make up less than 10% of the workforce.

Women in Construction week derived from the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and it is celebrated on an annual basis. The organization’s mission is to strengthen and amplify the success of women in construction. It also provides education and advocacy for the underrepresented population. The participation of firms such as IPI advances their overall goal and facilitates camaraderie among women in the industry.
